CUISINE del Sol is a cookbook that combines recipes from Los Angeles’ celebrated chefs and restaurants supporting Special Olympics Southern California (SOSC) through the annual event, Pier del Sol. Entering it’s 21st year in 2017, Pier del Sol has combined food, fun and sun all to benefit SOSC athletes. Among the local chefs who have lent their support over the years are Gino Angelini, Michael Cimarusti, Josiah Citrin, Brooke Williamson & Nick Roberts, Alain Giraud, Peter Garland, Sherry Yard, and Melissa’s Produce Chef Tom Fraker.
Support from the wonderful Pier del Sol chefs insures the success of the event. The CUISINE del Sol cookbook is a way to celebrate them and the more than 20-year history of Pier del Sol. Cuisine del Sol is dedicated to all of the athletes of Special Olympics Southern California.
CUISINE DEL SOL is dedicated to all of the athletes of Special Olympics Southern California who demonstrate courage, joy, determination and strength on a daily basis, on and off the playing field. From the dedication page: “You inspire people to open their hearts and minds to anyone with different abilities, while bringing together communities to unite and support one another. Special Olympics may change your lives, but you also change the lives of those around you.”
